Republicans have been attacking the Obama Administration for months over their proposed $500 billion stimulus package. The package is full of pork and other goodies for big businesses, but one section of the bill has garnered a lot of attention. That section is called the Export Bank. For obvious reasons, many in the business community are against the Ex-Bank. Many argue that it’s a big handout to big businesses which pollutes our environment and attempts to gain a monopoly of exporting.
Republicans Blast Water For This Time
So, what did Republicans blast water for this time? It’s not actually the Export Bank per se. It’s the part of the bill Republicans want to enact that lets companies negotiate with other foreign countries to buy their wares. Companies that export could be hurt by this, and it’s one of the reasons that the Democrats want to put a moratorium on the Ex-Bank.
So how does a nation increase its exports? Well, if a nation can get more goods manufactured and shipped to other nations, then it can increase its exports by opening up more American markets. The key is finding those markets. One obvious way is to open up more offshore accounts in places like China and India. That’s been a big part of the strategy for American exports in recent years.
However, if we give away our jobs to these poor countries, then we will become uncompetitive and our economy will crash. How can you propose giving away our jobs to these countries when our own populations are starving? Doesn’t make much sense, doesn’t it? So, if the Democrats want to give away our jobs to these countries, why not do the opposite? Instead of giving these poor countries money, let’s give them the infrastructure that they can build and give them the resources they need to become strong, prosperous nations.
It makes a lot of sense to put restrictions on exports, because the world needs our exports, just as much as it needs us. But, instead of putting all this blame on President Obama and his administration, let’s put the blame where it belongs – on the global-warming alarmists. Republicans have been pushing this global warming alarmist agenda since BEFORE President Obama was elected! And, if the Earth’s temperatures continue to rise as predicted, we could experience very extreme weather changes during this next hurricane season. (The only question is “How will President Obama handle the hurricanes?”)
If we don’t get serious about curtailing our over-extended dependence on water shipping and redirecting our water resources to other uses, then we will be faced with shortages of certain essential commodities. For example, without water, farmers will be unable to grow their crops. Consumers will suffer and we will become less able to protect ourselves from harmful contaminants. Infrastructure will not be able to keep up with the amount of pollutants in the air, as farmers use more water for growing crops than they can actually drink.
President Obama, if you want to win back the House and the Senate in 2012, need to put a stop to all this foolishness. Water is one of the best things we import and yet we over-extend our water resource. If we cannot get our water needs under control, then we will be faced with shortages in food and energy production, along with an increase in the price of everything that we buy. That’s going to put a big strain on your economy, especially if you happen to be a large exporter of goods in the agricultural sector.

What’s the solution? Reduce the amount of water that you are taking off of the balance? Reduce the amount of money that you are sending to Third World countries so that you can pay for the cost of your water shipments? The most prudent course of action is to find out how you can reduce the amount of money you are sending to these poor countries so that you can afford to give your goods away at more reasonable rates.

Businesses that rely on low-wage immigrants have seen their costs rise as a result of this.
